There are hundreds of poha variety across India. Maharashtrian poha recipe is a very famous, authentic and traditional western Indian breakfast recipe made with beaten rice. Poha is the most preferred street food in Maharashtra. The speciality of its recipe is that it can be made easily in a very short time. It is very tasty and healthy require less oil and in less time. Whenever you want to make some instant breakfast, you can prepare this delicious recipe of Kanda Poha. It is generally served as it is but tastes better when topped with fresh coconut and with a combination of thin Sev or farsan.

Ingredients for Kanda pohe recipe:
200 gms – Thick poha
2 tablespoons – Cooking oil
3 nos. – medium size Onions finely chopped
4 nos. – chopped Green chilli ( quantity can be variable as per your taste)
50 gms – Peanuts
2 tablespoons – Coriander leaves
1 no. – Lemon
2 tablespoons – Thin Shev
5-6 nos. – Curry leaves
1/2 teaspoon – Cumin seed (jeera)
1/2 teaspoon – Mustard seeds
2 tablespoons – grated dry Coconut
1/2 teaspoon – Turmeric Powder
1/2 teaspoon – Sugar
1 teaspoon – salt
Method for preparing Kanda pohe recipe with step by step photos:
1 – First of all, clean poha remove dust and impurities with the help of a strainer, then and wash it thoroughly with water 2-3 times and take it out. Keep aside for 5 minutes, so it will help to soften the poha.
2 – Heat the oil in a deep kadhai or a pan, add peanuts and fry the peanuts on low flame, then transfer it to socked poha.
3 – Remove little hot oil from the kadhai to use at the later step of the recipe.
4 – Now add Mustard seeds, Cumin seeds (jeera), Curry leaves, green Chillies and give tadka.
5 – Now, Add the chopped onion inside the tadka.
6 – Cook the onion till it becomes turns golden, meantime till the onion gets cooked, mix gently fried peanuts in socked poha
7 – When the onion turns golden brown then add turmeric powder and salt to it. Mix well.
8 – Further, add soaked poha in it and mix gently.
9 – Cover the lid and let it cook for 3-4 minutes on a very low flame. After 3-4 minutes remove the lid and add the hot oil which we kept aside in step – 3.
10 – Squeeze lemon on poha. Spread chopped coriander leaves.
11 – Add a little bit of sugar. Mix it well and again cover the lid and allow it to cook for 2 minutes only.
Our super taste yummy Kanda pohe is ready to serve.
Garnish Kanda pohe with thin Shev, grated Coconut and lemon and serve it hot.

Instructions
