Flavoured frozen yogurt
Homemade Flavoured frozen yogurt quick and easy recipe with a handful of ingredients and without an ice cream machine. Flavoured yogurt is a dessert made from strained or Greek yogurt. This dessert is an excellent source of calcium, which can help improve bone health. It also contains probiotics, which support a healthy bacterial balance in the gut. Eating Greek yogurt may be associated with lower blood pressure and a lower risk of type 2 diabetes.

It is one of the favourite desserts in many countries. In India especially in Maharashtra and Gujarat fruit-flavoured yoghurt is popularly known as Fruit Shrikhand. In Gujarati cuisine, shrikhand is eaten as either a side dish with bread such as poori or as a dessert. It is commonly served as part of a vegetarian thali in Gujarati restaurants and is popular as part of wedding feasts. It is often served chilled as a counterpoint to hot and spicy curries.
A popular variant of shrikhand, Matho, which has fruit added, is served as a sweet dish or dessert particularly in Gujarati cuisine.
Another popular variation of flavoured yogurt in Maharashtra is Amrakhand (आम्रखंड), which is yogurt blended with mango pulp.
To prepare Flavoured frozen yogurt:-
Yogurt or curd is tied in a muslin (cotton) cloth and left under pressure or hang overnight to drain water from it, and to achieve the desired thickness. Another instant method is to use Greek yogurt with full fat Since Greek yogurt is super thick. No need to hang or strain yogurt and Shrikhand can be made directly from Greek yogurt by adding powdered sugar and flavors of your choice. The strained yogurt or curd referred to as “Chakka” (चक्का), and sugar mixed thoroughly in a deep bowl. Then by blending our favorite fruits in it, we can prepare flavored frozen yogurt

Flavoured frozen yogurt Ingredients:
1 kg – Curd or Greek yogurt
4 tablespoons (200gm) – Powdered Sugar
3 nos. – Bananas
6-8 nos. – Strawberry
3 nos. – Kiwis
2 nos. – Oranges
1 tablespoon – Cocoa powder
2 tablespoon – Chocolate syrup
1/2 tablespoon Cardamom powder
1/4 teaspoon – Nutmeg (Jaifal) powder
1/4 teaspoon – Salt
3-4 drops – Lemon juice
1 – tablespoon – Choco chips
To make creamy thick yogurt, Hang the yogurt overnight in a strainer or muslin (cotton) cloth to drain out all the water from it.
Do not forget to place an empty bowl below to collect the drained water.
Method for preparing Flavoured yogurt with step by step photos:
1 – Chop 4-5 strawberries, keep a small quantity separate for garnishing. Blend chopped strawberries and prepare its paste.
2 – Chop bananas, Separate small quantity for garnishing, add 1 tablespoon cocoa powder and 1 tablespoon chocolate syrup in it, and blend it to prepare its paste.
3 – Now, Chop kiwis, prepare its paste with the help of whisks. Don’t blend kiwis in a blender otherwise, it will become bitter in taste.
4 – Peel the oranges, reserve a small quantity for garnishing. Prepare orange juice.
5 – In a bowl add the yogurt (after all the water is drained out of it). Add nutmeg powder, cardamom powder, salt to taste, and powdered sugar to the thick yogurt.
Mix it well using a spoon or a dasher. Divide the sugared yogurt into four separate bowls.
6 – To prepare the Strawberry flavoured yogurt:
Take 1st bowls of yogurt, add the strawberry paste in it and mix well.
In serving glass spread strawberry paste inside a glass, and add half part of strawberry yogurt in it.
Spread strawberry pieces in the 2nd layer, then add remaining strawberry yogurt over it.
Top it with pieces of strawberry before serving.
7 – To prepare the Banana flavoured yogurt:
Take 2nd bowls of yogurt, add the banana paste in it and mix well.
In serving glass spread banana paste inside a glass, and add half part of banana yogurt in it.
Spread banana pieces in the 2nd layer, then add remaining banana yogurt over it.
Top it with pieces of banana and Choco chips before serving.
8 – To prepare the Kiwi flavoured yogurt:
Take 3rd bowls of yogurt, add kiwi paste in it and mix well.
In serving glass spread kiwi paste inside a glass, and add half part of kiwi yogurt in it.
Spread kiwi pieces in the 2nd layer, then add the remaining kiwi yogurt over it.
Top it with pieces of kiwis before serving.
9 – To prepare the Orange flavoured yogurt:
Take 4th bowls of yogurt, add Orange juice to it and mix well.
In serving glass spread orange juice inside a glass, and add half part of orange yogurt in it.
Spread orange pieces in 2nd layer, then add remaining orange yogurt over it.
Top it with pieces of orange before serving.
Now our Strawberry, Banana, Kiwi, and Orange flavoured yogurt is ready for serving.
Refrigerate it for 15 minutes and serve. (If you want flavoured yogurt, thick like ice-cream then refrigerate for 30 minutes)
Notes: –
1 – Regular or plain yogurt is best to prepare flavoured yogurt. Using fat-free or low-fat yogurt changes the consistency of the flavoured yogurt.
2 – Traditionally yogurt is hung in muslin (Cotton) cloth overnight to drain out the water.
3 – You can add your favourite fruit paste or juice to prepare flavoured yogurt.
4 – Take care while making a paste of kiwis, kiwi seeds should not get crushed otherwise it becomes bitter in taste, so smash it rather than blending.
Frozen yogurt

- 3 no. Bananas
- 8 nos. Strawberry
- 3 nos. Kiwis
- 2 nos. Oranges
- 1 tablespoon Cocoa powder
- 2 tablespoon Chocolate syrup
- 1 teaspoon Cardamom powder
- ¼ teaspoon Nutmeg (Jaifal) powder
- ½ teaspoon Salt
- 3-4 drops Lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon Choco chips
