Sprouted Moong Pakoda is one of the most favoured of recent trending snacks, Especially in the rainy season weather just adds the perfect romance of pakora and chai, and there aren’t many who can resist these crunchy fritters.
It is healthy & simple, it is fast, it tastes delicious. It is enjoyed by many every day. They’re nice and they look wonderful. Sprouted Moong Pakoda is something that I’ve loved my entire life. I often prepare moong bean sprouts pakodas at home. They are mildly sweet, low in fat, and very nutritious. They are good sources of protein, fiber, and calories. You can serve them as teatime snacks, an appetizer at your next get together, sandwich them between bread for out of this world fritter sandwiches, or as a salad topper. You can also switch out the sauce for some versatility.

How to sprout Moong (Green gram)?
1 – Wash and soak moong beans for 12 hours or overnight. Drain all water the next day from the soaked beans and wash it. Take a kitchen towel or any other cotton cloth. Spread cloth over a bowl. Add soaked beans to the cloth.
2 – Tie the knot and tighten the cloth and keep it in the bowl in a dim corner overnight or for a minimum of 12 hours. Do not cover the bowl
3 – Sprinkle some water on the kitchen towel to make it a little damp. Do so every 12 hours. After a day the green moong sprouts.
4 – Once sprouted, wash the moong. You can store refrigerated in containers for up to 3 days.

Sprouted Moong Pakoda Ingredients:
125 gram – green Mong Sprouts
5 tablespoons – Rice flour
1 medium-size – chopped Onion
2 nos. – green Chillies
5 nos. – Garlic cloves
1 inch – Ginger
3 tablespoons – Curd
1 tablespoon – Sesame seeds
2 tablespoons – chopped Coriander leaves
1 teaspoon – crushed roasted Cumin seeds
½ teaspoon – Turmeric powder
1 teaspoon – Garam masala
½ teaspoon – Salt (as per your taste)
Pinch of Baking soda
Cooking oil for frying
Method for preparing Sprouted Moong Pakoda with step by step photos:
1 – In a medium-size mixture jar add sprouted Green moong, then add the following ingredients
chopped Onions, 2- Green Chillies, 5 nos. – Garlic cloves, Ginger, 1 teaspoon – crushed roasted Cumin seeds, ½ teaspoon Turmeric powder, 1 teaspoon – Garam masala, ½ teaspoon salt (as per your taste), Water (as per requirement) I have added 3 tablespoons of water.
Blend all ingredients together until it becomes a paste.
2 – Transfer this paste into a big mixing bowl and add rice flour, chopped coriander leaves and a pinch of baking soda and mix it well.
3 – Now add 3 tablespoons – curd, 1 tablespoon Sesame seeds to the above batter and mix well. Cover the lid and keep the batter for 10 minutes so that sprouts get saturated with rice flour. If the solution looks much thick, then add a little more water.
4 – After 10 minutes remove the lid and beat the batter again for 2-3 minutes. Consistency of batter should not too much thick or thin. It should be like as shown in the photo below.
5 – Further, turn on the gas and heat oil in a kadhai or frying pan on a high flame.
Frying Pakodas:
6 – Pour a small drop of batter in oil and check if the oil is heated enough for frying.
7 – Set the gas flame lower to medium flame and slowly add dumplings of a batter in oil with the help of a spoon. Fry 5-6 pakodas at a time. Fry the pakodas on both sides till they turn golden brown in colour.
8 – Keep flipping the pakodas on both sides with the help of a spatula or strainer, so they will not get burnt.
Once pakodas starts to change their colour golden brown remove the pakodas on a plate.
9 – Repeat the procedure for all pakodas.
10 – Here’s your crispy and healthy sprouted green moong pakodas are ready to serve.
11 – You can serve it with tomato ketchup, Pudina chutney, Tamarind chutney etc.

- ½ teaspoon Turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon Garam masala
- ½ teaspoon Salt (as per your taste)
- Pinch of Baking soda
- Cooking oil for frying
Instructions
