But today I have prepared halwa by giving some variation to this delicious recipe to make it more delicious and time-saving. instead of milk or khoya I use here fresh cream it is definitely lower in calories than khoya and it takes too little time. It is usually not easy to make delicious sweets at home, but today’s Gajar halwa recipe/ carrot pudding is a dessert that is not only easy to make and quick to make but is also liked by everyone from children to old people. Ingredients for Gajar ka halwa:
1/2 kg – Carrots
1 cup – Fresh cream (200ml)
100 grams – powdered Sugar ( as per your taste)
8-10 nos. – chopped Almonds
10 -15 nos. – Raisins
½ teaspoon – Cardamom powder
1/4 teaspoon – Nutmeg (Jaifal) powder (1 pinch)
1 tablespoon – Ghee
Method for preparing Gajar ka halwa with step by step photos:
1 – First clean and wash the Carrots. Peel off the skin and grate it.
2 – Heat the ghee in a pan/ kadhai on medium flame and add grated carrots to it and shake it with a spoon and cover it for 5 minutes and cook.
3 – After 5 minutes, open the lid and add powdered sugar and mix it well. A lot of the juice must have come out of the carrot, cook it by continuously stirring it with a spoon until the juice is reduced.
4 – When the juice is reduced from the carrots, then add fresh cream to it and stir it continuously with a spoon until the halwa is thick.
5 – Add cardamom powder and nutmeg powder to it.
6 – Cover it for 2-3 minutes and cook.
7 – When halwa start getting thick, then add chopped almonds and raisins to it and mix it well. Keep stirring constantly until halwa strats leave sides of kadhai and oozing ghee out.
Our delicious Gajar ka halwa is now ready to serve.
serve hot or cold as you like.
Garnish it with chopped almonds and cherry.
Note:
1 – Do not use the centres’ yellow portion of carrot while grating carrots.
2 – If you like, you can use khoya along with fresh cream for a good taste of halwa.
3 – Vanilla essence is optional, but it makes the taste of halwa even better.
4 – If you want to use condensed milk in halwa then use 1/4 cup condensed milk in 2 cups grated carrots is sufficient.
5 – While cooking the halwa, do not thicken it completely.
6 – If you want to use khoya in it then add 1/4 cup khoya (mawa) to 2 cups grated carrots.
